For Dan. I have a game of my own tonight so I'll miss out on this. Either Boston shows up at home and forces a pivotal game 7 or I don't have to watch Vancouver dive their way to a Cup in Beantown. I think I can live with those options.

Whatever happens, I’ve really enjoyed the series, especially the physicality. Not Rome’s cheapshot, but just the fact that pretty much everyone on both teams, big and small, finishes their checks.
I’d moan about not having Johnny Boychuk any more, except that a) someone would make fun of me, and b) I realized that the Johnny Boychuk who looks pretty decent on the Bruins would probably not look the same on the Avs. Different roles, different expectations, different partners. I do like his checking and his big slapper, though (TWSS!).
Really hope Boston wins tonight, and then shoves it down Vancouver’s throat in Game 7. That, coupled with LeFraud’s choke job, would make for a sweet few days.

Totally. There’s some great places to visit. Yokohama is pretty awesome. Same with Odaiba. There’s Disney Tokyo that is pretty cool. Lots of cool stuff all around.

There’s a lot of stuff around to do. I personally don’t like the city that much but Odaiba and Yokohama are the more..well touristy locations. Pretty cool shopping, and there’s giant ferris wheels. Rappongi is where all the night clubs and degenerates hang out. Once you’re away from the city there’s some really cool stuff too. I got to go canyoning up in the mountains, that was way way fun.

Yeah? I’d like to see the craziness of Tokyo or one of the larger cities, but we’re much more for the rural non-city stuff. Note to self: avoid Rappongi.

Think of the sleazy parts of Vegas, and then you’ve got a place that out classes Rappongi. There’s plenty of craziness in the areas I’ve named. There’s cool cities outside of Tokyo. There’s a shopping district called Harajuku that’s pretty cool to be in. My favorite place to eat is there. It’s a Brazilian BBQ joint. Going there tonight. Shibuya is kind of nice too. So is Shinjuku.

Okay, that was too much
I like the idea of incorporating the statistics these guys have a hard on for with traditional evaluation techniques, like watching games and seeing incalculable things happening all over the ice. I think there’s a place for them, especially as they improve them in the future.
But this idea that our fan base is somehow delusional because we saw how our team matched up against SJ in the regular season and we said, ‘We can hang with these guys’ is fucking silly. We DID hang with them, by the way, and we made them earn fucking everything they got. What was Calgary doing while we were putting up a fight in the postseason? Chillin at home about to retool their roster with mediocre hockey players who would enable them to finish just outside the playoffs again. Congratulations. You’re stuck in the 8-12 range for the forseeable future! I’d say we’re a lot better off.

By all means bitch about it but you’re complaining about not having a 6th defenseman that we already have the same version of. Big differences are Boychuk has a better shot and Wilson is more physical but even so, you’re talking about essentially the same guy. I just don’t see the point of it. Some quick observations
This is the Kaberle Boston was hoping to get in the trade. He’s been a facilitator on offense and making good decisions with the puck without being a huge liability (yet) on defense. Good to see him show some life.
As mentioned above, Boston is pinching at every chance they get and right now Vancouver hasn’t adjusted to it at all and it’s causing possessions to stay in Boston’s favor an extra 30 seconds.
Losing Mason Raymond, arguably Vancouver’s most consistent forward of this series, has really hurt the second line. They’ve lost a lot of their punch with Oreskovich out there.

So again, I’d like to point out the complete unlikelihood of this. Trained professionals who, as a franchise, have hundreds of thousands of dollars invested in the talent. Have you ever seen a trainer freak out or make the wrong call in an NHL game? When Clint Malarchuk’s neck got cut, when guys are leaking like crazy, they stay calm and make the right decisions.
This isn’t the KHL, for fuck’s sake.

I saw that comment, and I know it was Mirtle who said it (not you, Cheryl), but I thought that was a crappy thing to write. He’s basically saying that, from the “sounds” of the injury, the trainer and trained personnel in the arena, who have done this hundreds, if not thousands, of times, didn’t know what they were doing.

Do you know better than the trainer who was out there taking care of Raymond? When’s the last time you heard of a case where a trainer didn’t look at an injury seriously enough?
Are you a doctor? Are you a trainer? Which medical professionals have you spoken to after the incident who stated that the trained medical personnel in Boston handled the situation incorrectly?

We have 3 goddesses. Beachie Cheryl can be the goddess whore mother (aka Hera) because she keeps an eye on everything and keeps all of us in line, Sandie can be Aphrodite because of the Cupcakes, and I guess I really like tanks and using irrelevant information, so I’m like Athena.

I use iTunes to update my iPod classic every 3 months or so. I have a bunch of music that’s in FLAC so since that doesn’t play in iTunes I use Winamp. Also, iTunes is too ugly and clunky for my tastes.

Absolutely. iTunes is useful for a program I use called Tune Up. Cleans up and properly labels music. Every time I go to close iTunes it opens on its own about 4 more times. It’s basically saying “Hey, nah, you didn’t want to close me, I’m gonna be persistent until you use me.”

the blowouts are doing Vancouver a favor. Yes, they’re getting blown out AGAIN but I have to imagine losing Game 6 this way is better than losing it in an extremely close, emotionally draining game where you gave everything you had left in your legs.

A game like this, Vancouver has probably checked out for the most part after the first period. Had this been an OT loss, going back home physically and emotionally spent for the final game of the season seems like it would be a million times more taxing than what the Canucks are going through right now.
