Fantastic article about Landeskog
...and why he's not the right choice at the top of the draft. At least, it's exactly my reasoning why we shouldn't :)

I agree. My #1 fear with Landeskog is that he’s just bigger than everyone else. You can’t use the #2 pick on a guy if you feel that way too. A #2 overall pick can’t end up being a really good 3rd liner, he has to be on your top line—for many years, or the avs will be back drafting in the top 10 more often.
Available for a 3rd round pick.

some really good points. I’ve been slowly changing my allegiance from Landeskog to Hubs, i still have some reservations about Larsson though
Thanks Footer

He does make some good points, except that the scouts are wrong about people all the freaking time. The real questions are: Does the player have enough talent to take themselves to the next level? That, he’s good on. But the other one is: Does the player have the inner fortitude to push themselves there? There’s no way to answer that one, but I think Skog has it (from both minutes I’ve spent thinking about it, of course). I am probably wrong. After all, these guys do this for a living and must have a handle on it. Except that there are always guys that go later that do have the drive and surprise everyone. So I would argue that those intangibles that he can’t measure are important.
The Puck Podcast’s resident draft expert Mike Murangi says that Colorado should be “sprinting to the podium to choose Landeskog.” He says that he is the most complete player (bar RNH) and that Edmonton will definitely choose RNH because they are thin up the middle and have more than enough wingers.
He says that Lando could step in and make an impact immediately.
None of this discussion touched on BPA but he says that we are crazy if we go for anyone else.
