800K for Stoa has to be a salary floor move. Lucky him.
We see a wonderful sun-soaked city nestled at the foot of the Rocky Mountains. Enos sees nickels and dimes.
and an AHL move. I doubt he has much — or any time — in the NHL. He did take a $47,000 may decrease.

Actually, Stoa ended up signing for his minimum qualifying offer. Stoa’s salary last season was $765,000. His $850,000 cap hit included a $85,000 signing bonus. And his minimum qualifying offer is based off of his base salary, not his total cap hit. Since his base was greater than $660,000 but less than $1,000,000, his minimum qualifying offer was to be 5% more than his base salary. That ends up being the $803,250 for which he signed.

Liffiton gets a modest raise and Stoa gets a paycut.
Hey Ryyyyyan, we’re trying to tell you something!
2010-2011 Colorado Avalanche: Hugging the cap floor and waiting on their revenue share, because hey, billionaires need welfare too!
The fact that he accept it should tell us something.
Datsyuk may have done it first, but he learned it from Peter Forsberg.
Thanks for everything Foppa!

Dude - he fits the Crazy requirement for goalies
Us, Cup? Sometime in the next 5 years? Chances are slim, but hey, if his delusions get us a proven #1…..
“Yes, Tomas. We will compete for the Cup. Come sign with us!”
Just a Colorado girl in Montana who <3s the Avs.
Ha, maybe Vokoun is just THAT good. For next year, playoff contender I can buy, because is this team really that different from the one Craig Anderson carried to the playoffs two years ago? At an initial glance, it’s hard to envision a cup in the near future, but this team does have positives to build on. Some good young players that in 2-3 years are entering their prime, this year’s draft class is ready to make an impact in a couple years, and plenty of cap space. Winning a cup within a 3 year deal with Vokoun isn’t that shocking of a proposition to me.

Did he ever serve any time in th eAvs organization? cuz if not there is no way this is happening.
On a serious note, I’m not shocked that other players around the league see that we could win the cup soon. Now? Yeah, that comes as a shock. But I like that attitude that he could come here and be a piece of it.

We could probably do a front-loaded deal
As long as its on July 1st. I see a win-win here!

Love me some Lifififliliton… (maybe spelled wrong)

With you on this. Would love to see him as a 5/6 guy with the Avs. Paired with Gaunce or Wilson.

Only if injuries hit.
If Liffiton sees time with the Avs, it means something has gone wrong.

No. If Cumiskey sees time with the Avs something has gone wrong.

Agree with this as well.

Stoa really really surprises me. I doubt he’ll see any time in a unipron. I actually suspect that a signed Stoa could get us a late 2nd/early 3rd round pick come draft time.
Toronto Maple Leafs: Where NHL players hopes and dreams go to die.
No idea why anyone would pay that price for him
He’s young, sure, but he has a healthy chunk of NHL games under his belt now and essentially zero production to go with it. The guy is going to have to play himself back into a valuable piece because right now he’s just a decent AHL level player whose only positive going for him is his youth.

I think you give him the change of scenery it’s a different story with him. When he was called up he just did not seem excited at all to be playing for the big club. Granted nobody should relish in how many losses the team had at that point and they should want to be a contender, however I think he’s a guy that would look good on an Eastern team starved for depth at C. To counter, yeah he most certainly didn’t use his call up time wisely. I think a team might risk a pick in a weak draft on him. Just my thoughts.

Its possible
but it would have to be a late round flier. He’s less established than Winnik when we got him and he cost us a fourth. I’d say the highest we could possibly expect for Stoa would be that same fourth round price tag and that’s solely because he’s young and still has some offensive upside. Another year like last year and it’s Hensick all over again. fml

800k says mgmt sees potential in Stoa. Two way contract says man up buddy, this may be your last shot.

There’s no “maybe” about it. 1 year 2 way contract says this IS your last shot.

I can tell from your image icon that you didn’t expect Stoa to be back…

I don’t expect him to be in an Avs uniform this season. Surprised about the re-sign, but he’s good for LEM. I think we’ll see Harding as #29 personally. Could be Vokoun, but in the original article of his interview, there’s no mention of the Avs that I saw. The translated version of it was pretty funny though.

Vokoun in many respects would be perfect. Not a stupidly long contract, not too much money and at 35, he would have plenty to show a young Pickard. Vokoun retires in 2-3 years and Pickard takes over.
I am not surprised that Stoa has been re-signed. The Avalanche love underachievers and persist with them, whilst anyone with talent but speaks out of turn is shipped out. (Cough Stewart Cough)

Fixed.
