Capgeek is reporting that the Avalanche have re-signed forward David van der Gulik to a 1-year, 2-way deal. The Monsters made their first playoff appearance last year, and it appears that the organization is aiming to retain as many of the key components as possible. Along with van der Gulik (an assistant captain for Lake Erie), the team has already brought back captain David Liffiton, forward Ryan Stoa and enforcer Patrick Bordeleau. There are still some key Monsters unsigned, including leading scorer - and captain after Liffiton went down - Ben Walter, Shawn Belle, Justin Mercier (5 playoff points), Greg Mauldin and both goalies.
Capgeek is also finally reporting the Bordeleau signing.
