In a move predicted by yours truly, the Avalanche have signed former Maple Leafs G Jean-Sebastian Giguere. Terms of the deal are still unknown but I feel a million times more confident in this deal than the time we went off and signed Andrew Raycroft, who was also fresh off failing in Toronto at the time.

The 34-year old netminder went 11-11-4 last season with a 2.87 GAA and .900 SV%. AKA great veteran presence for the new kid on the block to learn from. I hope.

The deal is a two-year contract worth $2.5 total for a cap hit of $1.25 per season.
