Alright so I am bored, and well, just bored. Pretty pumped about the signing of Cedrick Desjardins, dunno why Tampa let him go, but let us go to the subject of this post. I want to know who you guys think the MVP of this upcoming year (since all we can really do right now is speculate about the far away 2011-2012 season). I also want to know, who you think the Avs need their best player to be to make the playoffs, two different questions. Personally I think this is the year Duchene steps up his game and takes it to the next level. I think this year he will prove to be the go-to man, and with getting more minutes (first line minutes rather than second, not all that different, but still some difference) and having the harder defensive pair to play against, I think he says "challenge accepted" and embraces the role of the franchise player. Who do I think the Avs need to be their MVP to make the playoffs? EJ, plain and simple, we need solid production and even better defense out of him along with 20+ minutes per game. Let's see if he can live up to his potential (although Varly was a close second to this, very close).
