On Feb. 11, 2011, the Islanders and Penguins clashed in a way that will go down in the history books of the NHL. It included "12 goals scored between the two teams; a combined 346 penalty minutes with two line brawls; (and) a combined 23 games in suspensions handed out." On August 19 (8 pm EDT), MSG will re-air the game, and the Islanders will hold a party for fans who want to watch it together. Some out there -- particularly Penguins fans -- are up-in-arms about it. (And yes, the injury to Tangradi gives them a valid reason for it.) Right or wrong, I think this is awesome. The Islanders organization sees an opportunity to expand its fan base, as well as create a tougher, meaner image for the team. "Hell, we almost want to throw a party to celebrate the Islanders understanding their fans on such a primal level. [Expletive] bobbleheads and cupcakes — this is how you connect with your loyalists." Couldn't agree more, Wysh.
