Fantasy Hockey.
Alright boys and girls, it's that time of year again, thank goodness, hockey season is about to begin at that means it's fantasy hockey time. We'll be running three leagues to start, if we need a fourth league we'll set up a fourth one. Don't worry, we will make sure that any MHH'ers that want in, get in. I'll be running the two on Yahoo, and MalachiConstant has agreed to be the commish in the ESPN league.
We discussed how we were going to do it, and we came to the desicion that it would be easiest for those interested to send an e-mail and we will send you a link. It will be first come first in, but again, don't worry too much, we'll make room for everyone.
Malachi has set up his as "Mile High Hockey", and he does have to send an e-mail link. If you want to join the ESPN pool, please either e-mail myself, or Malachi. His e-mail, for this purpose, is enos.kroenke@gmail.com. His league is currently set up for 16, but it can be maxed to 20. His live draft is currently scheduled for Sunday, October 2, 2011 at 12:00 PM ET. This can be adjusted if needed.
Another thing to note is that the ESPN league is set up so it can only be changed once a week. The roasters will "lock" at the begining of each week. This will give people a chance to only have to update once. For those with limited time to invest, his *may* be a good option for you.
For those interested in doing the fantasy pool on Yahoo, please e-mail me (link at bottom of the page) and I will send you a link. Again, first come, first served. I have two leagues set up on Yahoo. One is on a "rotissery" basis and the other is a "head to head" match up. Let me know which is your preference and I will link accordingly. If we run out of one, we'll put you in the other one. If we end up with a fourth league (which, I think, will be likely), we'll let those who didn't get their first choice know as well. The Yahoo leagues Draft times have not been set up yet, I was going to do it as a majority, but will either be evenings and weekends.
At the end of the season, we will run some sort of playoff pool mixed with the top teams, that are interested, in one pool.
Looking forward to your e-mails.

You do realize that Frozen Fury in Vegas is the night before? That makes it 9 am in Vegas. The only way any of us who will be there will be up for that will be if we never went to sleep. I respectfully request it be pushed back a few hours. Thanks!
And it has begun....
Request noted Cheryl. I just picked a time at random. We’ll move it back. Might be best to wait and pick a new time once we have a full league though.

No problem. I just know that if I do it then, I will still be drunk and think that drafting Hensick to center Wolski and Stoa would be a stellar idea.

We can definitely fool around with all the settings for the ESPN league to fit what the group would like, but I tried to set up things initially so people with minimal time to invest cough Doc cough could still participate by just setting up their team for the week over the weekend. If TheDoctor such people decide to still be lame and not participate, then we can switch it to a more normal locking of rosters at the start of the first game each day.

Is ESPN better than yahoo?
A man who stole my whisky used the defense that no one could resist a bottle of Scotch. I had no choice but to testify on his behalf.
Don’t answer that, I already chose team Malachi.

I’m doing both (Rotisserie Yahoo + ESPN).
This is the first time I’ve used ESPN, but in terms of number of options, ESPN is better so far. From what I hear, ESPN also updates the rosters for injuries, etc. faster too. Only trouble so far is ESPN is blocked for me at work, whereas Yahoo isn’t.

Will ESPN or Yahoo notify me when the draft starts? Or is there a special page I have to find to do it? This is my first time and will just be playing around with it. I will seriously try, but also learn

Maybe I am blind, but I do not see the link to email Sandy to get in…Can somebody help me spot it?
