trying to do an Altijynx, Coyotes have 17 ppg this year, Avs have 17 on the road. Coyotes also take the fewest penalties in the league.

So when SOB comes back, I think we should sit Elliott, play 7 D sometimes, and gives some other defensemen a rest.

My issue with 7 defenseman is that it makes the 4th line less effective. I say bench Elliott a few a games and see if anyone is playing badly.

I really don’t think that’s true, that it makes the 4th line less effective. That’s only based on my perception, no data to back it up.

There are 3 young centers who are capable of double-shifting every now and then. I think it’s a good way to get Stastny more ice time.

Yeah… honestly, the Avs would have to give a goalie prospect, top line forward a blue chip prospect or a combination of that. A price the Avs I don’t see paying.

Where does he even fit in? The obvious is that he replaces Stastny… but I honestly don’t see a fit here for him with the price he’s going to command that makes it… not worthwhile.

Jones, Quincey, Sami AK might work, but someone else would beat that. Our only chance is if Parise really wants to go to the Avs, and only the Avs, and puts Jersey in a weak position.

Two things I noticed in the Dallas game.
1) Hejduk seemed to be off when he is playing with Radar and Landy. It might have been an off game, but just seemed to be a body on the ice.

Honestly though, I think he’ll get there. Probably not this year, but if he can just relax and keep playing like he has been (aka shooting the puck), I think he could hit 40 either next year or the one after.

So basically he’ll be back for the playoffs, like last season. He promptly got hurt in the second round last season. The guy has the weirdest collection of injuries. Earlier this season, he got hit in the head with a puck, which was concerning because he had those concussions last season. But somehow he twisted his ankle on that play and his head was ok. Then the groin injury which occurred on a check against the boards. First we thought he tweaked the ankle but it was the groin.

Yeah it read like this, 20 games we have been at a negative ratio of powerplays for/against, 11 games it was even and I think only 12 games we actually had more oppurtunities on the powerplay than the opposition.

Justin @ TGG

It is Varlamov’s inability to absorb, control, and manage pucks that plays a role in why the Avs appear to play better in front of Giguere. This is not to say Varlamov is not good at it, but Giguere is a master at that trait, so he makes life much easier on his defensemen.

So OT, but not uber OT since it involves hockey. Someone “gifted” me some of Jonathan Roy’s CD’s. It has a lot of country influences. His later CD’s aren’t half-bad. He has one song that he keeps saying how proud his father is of him.

And it’s pretty clear he’s learning. He’s much better now than he was at the beginning of the year. Giggy’s rubbing off on him. Another season and a half of this (hopefully more) and we’ll be good.
