I personally don’t think we need to have him here all the time. I think sometimes that becomes overbearing.
Say WHAAAAAT?
Is Randy Carlyle still unemployed?

Should your coaches be over-bearing at times? Especially when working with you on things? That’s like saying “I don’t feel like practicing today, or training in the offseason, because that’s just overbearing”
Goalie coach? We don't need no stinking goalie coach!
I am of two minds on Saccos’s comment. Either McLean is doing the right thing and sticking up for the goalies and expressing his opinions on what they need and Sacco doesn’t like it, or McLean is really overbearing and doesn’t interact with the goalies well and isn’t the right fit. I think the right goalie coach wouldn’t be overbearing. So it’s hard to tell if it’s Sacco or McLean here. But Giggy is saying they need a full time coach and Varly needs coaching and I’m sure Varly would love a full time coach, so why is Sacco against it? Is this the real reason the Avs don’t have a full time coach? Not because the organization is being cheap?
I thought that the Avs were one of the few teams without a full-time goalie coach?

That statement caught my eye, too.

Huh. So who should we believe? Wonder if Jiggy just doesn’t really know what he’s talking about? He’s only been in the league for many years, but it seems like he’s saying that not many teams have full-time goalie coaches. But we’ve been assured that the Avs are pretty much the only team that doesn’t.
I actually wondered if Dater mashed together his own thought on there not being many full time goalie coaches with Giggy’s quote which was just a response on a team not having a full time coach. I was confused. Maybe someone can ask Goalie Guild to clarify?

Someone just tweeted him
@avsfan52 Uhhh I just read it. There are some inaccuracies in there. I’ll have to write a post about it. Stay tuned I guess.
At exactly what point do you start to realize that life without knowledge is death in disguise?
Do the moderators have an easy way to check the other teams...
…moderators at SB Nation to poll how many teams have full-time coaches?

“I think every team should have a full-time goalie coach. At the end of the day, a goalie can make you make the playoffs or not make the playoffs or win you a series or not,” says the goalie with a cup and a conn smythe.
“I personally don’t think we need to have him here all the time. I think sometimes that becomes overbearing.” says the coach who hasn’t won anything as a player or a coach.
I’m not generally in the “Fire Sacco” camp, but I disagree completely with that statement.

Very astute. How could Sacco honestly believe (unless blah blah blah, Kronkes, Lacroix, hush-hush) that a full-time coach for a young, talented, heavily paid-for goalie of the future would be anything but beneficial?
Astounding.
I'm such a huge fan of the Avs I can name who our goalie was FOUR seasons ago! Crazy, right?!
