Curse of #18
Since Brandon Yip went to the Preds, here is a recap of all those poor Avs guys who tried to wear the cursed #18. Unfortunately, this article is in Russian (and, frankly speaking, written by myself), so I used Google Translate. It messed up things too much (who's Dedmarsha?), and some information is murky, but the overall point is clear - #18 for the Avalanche is a no-go. I just had no time to translate it better than the machine did, sorry for that.

I hope it won’t work with him this way. After all, he’s gonna be the first one since Deadmarsh, who never wore anything other than #18 for the Avs (training camp doesn’t count, right?) – Drury used to wear #37, Tang used to be #40, Willsie was #50, Yeller was #26 and Yipper #59. Hish should be the fresh start.
Let’s say that the Curse is not that you oughtn’t wear #18, but that you oughtn’t change to #18.
If Hishon is healthy enough to make it to camp next season, I’d like to see him wear an entirely different number. I’m guessing if he’s healthy enough to play, majority of time will be spent with the Monsters next season.
The reason I'm in town, in case you're wondering, is because of a Kansas City Shuffle.
I’m thinking he’s taking 18 and I think he’s not going to spend to much time in Cleveland. Guess it may have to do with injuries and whether Hejduk retires. He’ll take Hejduk’s spot on the Radar line.

Hishon could be the Avs’ version of Duke Nukem Forever.
