Completely OT: Denver has an awesome spring concert lineup
Indulge me.
Seriously, this spring is great. Here's the ones that interest me the most:
Feb 18 - Young the Giant
March 1,3, 4- Gomez
March 8 - Guster
March 10 - Kasabian
March 13 - Radiohead (whom I don't really like, but a lot of others do)
March 16 - ALO, Galactic
March 17 - The Joy Formidable
March 30 - Rusted Root
April 3 - Fun.
April 6 - Band of Skulls
April 10 - Rodrigo Y Gabriella
April 10 - Death Cab for Cutie
April 13 - Cults
April 14 - Rusted Root
April 18 - The Naked and Famous
April 19 - Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers
April 22 - Kasabian
April 30 - M83
April 30 - The Black Keys
May 1 - Ben Kweller
May 2 - Portugal. The Man
May 10 - Social Distortion, Toadies
I'm sure there's other bands on the list I linked to that interest others here. I'm going to have some tough concert choices to make in the next few months... but that's the best I season I can remember Denver getting in a while.

I like Guster, and Social D. Radiohead and Rusted Root are OK. Tom Petty is OK as well.
I have heard of the Toadies, the Black Keys and Rodrigo y Gabriela….
Datsyuk may have done it first, but he learned it from Peter Forsberg.
Thanks for everything Foppa!

Not a Single band on this list that I would be dying to see
I might go see Tom Petty just to say I did and maybe social D.

you should check out the list linked to in the title. I narrowed it down to bands I like, but there’s a lot more coming.

FYI
There’s nothing I hate more than people who tell other’s their music taste sucks, or make personal judgements about people based on their music. It’s such an individualistic thing that and usually it’s really seperate from their personality, that I don’t judge people based on their tast in music (Exception: Insane Clown Posse/Guggalos.. j/k, mostly)
But I have no problem telling people why I don’t like the music either. (I.e. I like discussing music, but I find most other people who really like discussing music to be pretentions snobs, so I rarely find people I like discussing music with. See also: Politics, Religion)

You went off on them in a thread a few years back. I tried to defend my opinion of why I think they are good, and you ripped me about it, tearing down every thing I said about them. =)

I can’t really explain why I like them its weird, and its not like I like Everything by them but I would more like to see Everlast than Sublime personally. I would still like to see sublime don’t get me wrong but main draw was Everlast.
I actually like ICP, I don’t claim to be a Juggalo but I have two friends that categorize themselves as Juggalo’s and they are actually not the stereotype like everyone sees them as. Yes you will have the exceptions as all musical stereotypes go but most of the “Juggalo’s” I have met are everyday people that embrace a band that embraces them as their extended family.
Any time you want to have a civilized debate about any of those subjects I am totally down I have very unique views on all of them :u)

Yeah, these are def more in line with what I’d want to see than Jibs’ list. I like Death Cab and Tom Petty, but the only one I’d actually go to would be Social D.

So here’s my list of concerts I would actually attend. There were only about five other bands that I thought, “That’d be kinda cool.” But they weren’t concerts I’d spend money to go to.
Lenny Kravitz – Feb
Sublime with Rome, Everlast – March
Young Dubliners – March
Flogging Molly – March
Funkiphino – April (Friend’s band)
Social Distortion, Toadies – May
Bush – June
Colorado Irish Fest – July
Red Hot Chili Peppers – September

Love Social D. Their remake of Ring of Fire really kicks arse.

Totally going to age myself here but…
When I was 14 or so, my friends and I used to sneak into a little music venue in Huntington Beach called The Golden Bear in order to see Social D. That was back in the early days of the band when they could play in a place that had a max occupancy of like 500 or so. Sadly, they tore the Bear down in 1986.
RIP, Golden Bear
