A couple months ago, I was browsing on here, when a fanshot caught my eye. It was a concept on Icethetics featuring a redesign of the Colorado Avalanche uniform. I proceeded to check it out and was surprised at the result. It was similar to a design that I had been working on for a few days. My surprise eventually changed slightly uncomfortable when Andi D posted another reworked concept shortly afterwards (by the way it was a very well done design). This one was even more uncannily similar to my designs. So I just would like to clarify that I have no intention or desire to copy or rip off any one else's concept. This is completely my work, aside from the actual template which I got off Bmacs' blog.

Anyway, I just wanted to share my designs and maybe get some feedback. Feel free to share your thoughts.

Okay, so first we have the road jersey. I think all of us Avs fans agree that the pre reebok uniforms were not only better than what we have now but were also one of the best and most unique in the league. That is what I wanted to emulate in my design. When I started on the designs I wanted something similar, but slightly different . A more modern, but recognizable redesign.I miss the original jerseys the Avs wore, but I thought why bring back the exact same ones? As sweet as they were I think some form of update is acceptable. I have brought back the mountains on the sleeves and bottom of the sweater. Something which is very characteristic of Colorado is of course the Rocky Mountains and I thought it fitting to bring them back. However, I have made three peaks on the front instead of the main one and part of two more on the sides like the older jerseys. I did this as a subtle tribute to the Nordiques. The three peaks sort of imitate the three fleur de lis on the bottom of the jersey.

Alright, next I present the home sweater.

This one follows the design of the white but this one is primarily blue. This is another subtle reference to the Nordiques. I know that the current alternate jersey has sort of grown on many fans including myself, (at first I hated it) so this is for all those who are fans of the ''blueberries.'' Many people wont even notice the switch from mostly burgundy to steel blue as the primary color of this jersey and I think it looks good. At least for a change. Burgundy is the teams primary color so I didn't try to skip out on any of it. I also included more black. Since reebok took over, the piping between the blue and burgundy on the sleeves has disappeared so I made sure to include it. Many people seem to be in favor of throwing out the black pads and changing the color, but I see no problem with it and tried to include more black on the jersey than previously displayed.

This one is pretty much a recolored version of the ''blueberries'' but inspired by the original alternates and imitating the color scheme of the original dark sweaters. Just a combination of previous jerseys the Avs have displayed.

And as a bonus, here is a Winter Classic concept.

If the Avs can't use the old Rockies or Nordiqes jerseys I think this would be a good replacement.

No extra colors, just a simple classic design. Sorry I don't know why this picture is bigger than the others.

I hope you got at least some fun out of this post. I worked hard at these design and I hope it shows.
