Crosby traded?
Sorry, I'm not trying to lure you here under false pretences. Well, okay, I am, but please read on!
Here's the (fictional) scenario:
Crosby has returned to NHL action after his latest concussion and he has played 20 games, scoring 24 points. BAM! he gets knocked sparko and is stretchered off the ice. He is later diagnosed with "concussion-like symptoms."
Penguins' GM, Ray Shero decides that whilst the Penguins are still winning without Crosby, he needs to take a long term view and Crosby keeps getting concussed. Therefore, enough is enough and Crosby is on the trading block.
As do another 28 teams, Greg from Accounting gets right on it. What would it take to get Sid the Kid to don an Avs unipron?
Shero replies:
Stastny, Duchene and O'Reilly
MHH - What would you do if you were Greg? Would you risk it all on arguably the best player in the league at the cost of gutting your team? Or would you stand pat, preferring to keep the heart of your team?

Similar to the Lindros deal, but we´re at the wrong end of it. Probably none of these Player will likely be as good as Crosby. But beside the fact that he´s concussed he will never be as valuable to our organisation as 3 talentet Centers, simply because depht beats starplayers.
Have to agree. Those three will account for 50+ minutes a night of high quality centering. You might get 20 minutes of awesome out of Crosby, but the remaining time would be filled with “adequate” at best. No thanky.

Getting Crosby out of Pittsburgh?
Well, first you’d have to form an army. Then invade Pittsburgh via the Allegheny and Monongahela using amphibious landing craft, with your targets being the immediate control of the Fort Pitt, Smithfield, Liberty, Fort Duquesne and Veterans bridges, being sure to destroy the Three Rivers, Rachel and 7th St. bridges. Then lay down a line of scorched earth both north and south of Consol Energy Center along Crosstown Boulevard, giving you complete control of the downtown area. After that, kidnap the mayor, Mario Lemieux and probably Franco Harris and hold them at gunpoint. Your demands will be simple. Hand over Crosby in exchange for Duchene, McLemment, Quincey and two first rounders and no further bloodshed needs to occur. Just watch out for Jean-Claude Van Damme.

Or get Chuck Norris to go get him.
Datsyuk may have done it first, but he learned it from Peter Forsberg.

No.
More casualties to innocent parties with Chuck than if you use Dix’s strategy.

Depends.
If we do, we’d need to spend some actual money to replace our centres. And I don’t mean a million or two…. I mean, go out and spend +3,4,5,6 per FAgent. I’m talking Brad Richards-esque deals from last year.
Oh, what the hell, just give them Stastny and Duchene, and trade O’Reilly to for Shea weber and sign Ryan Ellis too.
If Enos/Jr. Is willing to let Sherman spend up to the cap, the results could be….. interesting.
nevertheless, I do not condone these freewheeling reckless trades
Lets say that in the future
Stastny gets 75 pts, Duchene gets 75 pts and Radar gets 60. That’s 210 pts. Crosby will not get 210 points ever. EVER. Therefore we should not do this deal. I’m usually a fan of, who get’t the best player wins the deal, but in this case, no way. The sum of Stastny, Duchene and Radar are much greater than that of Crosby.

I voted maybe but when I really thought about it, it was a mistake. Sidney Crosby is a fantastic player, probably the best when healthy. That being said he has a lot more to work with in Pittsburgh than he would in Colorado after that trade. We hardly have a defenseman that is equal to Letang, a goalie that is equal to Fleury, or a complementary center equal to Malkin (as of right now I won’t mention Staal as I think O’Reilly is better). If for whatever reason we got more for him to work with I would perhaps agree to it if an unbiased doctor to either organization gave him a very very positive prognosis.
Yup...
