Can U Right Good?
It's that time again: Mile High Hockey is looking for some fresh meat (aka new writers). The pay sucks (there is none), but the prestige is immeasurable. Our preference is to find folks we already know from the MHH community. Prolificity is a must, even if it isn't a word. Tits, believe it or not, are optional.
Any questions, leave a comment below or shoot me an email.

Why is this is in a fanpost? Don’t you have the power to front page everything? In fact, front page this comment. And every other comment I make.

There should be a skills competition
With MHH judging on:
- Ban the troll — with points for poetic timing and hammer selection
- Most eloquent description of an Avalanche player
- Most voracious reaming of Vancouver

painting my house and gassing up my yacht. hahahahahaha
no, not really. Straight up, we’d like to provide more content than we are now – you know, the usual Avalanche articles you folks are already used to seeing. I’m also looking for a “news desk” type person focusing more on “breaking” Avalanche news that comes over the web throughout the day (injury updates, news from practice, so-and-so will be starting). Someone else to add to the preview / recap pool would be nice as well.

I might be able to help with preview/recaps if necessary.
My job takes enough time away I can’t do to much else though, and I’m sure to have coaching/meet conflicts on some game nights.
Datsyuk may have done it first, but he learned it from Peter Forsberg.
Thanks for everything Foppa!

Ok, I'll do it.
But on one condition: We rename the place “Mile High Hockey – The Official Gabriel Landesblog.”
Seriously, though, I would love to offer some services, if only for the experience of writing for someone other than myself. It’s the time, man. I don’t have the time.
I hear you

I think if I did something like this I’d be more likely to finish my statitsical research work. I’d absolutely be interested in that… but if you’re looking for breaking news, can’t do it. Work 9-5 and stuff.
At exactly what point do you start to realize that life without knowledge is death in disguise?

Not especially, no
A little rudeness and disrespect can elevate a meaningless interaction to a battle of wills and add drama to an otherwise dull day.

I'm mulling over applying and whether I have the time for it.
I like the “news desk” thing, but, really, what I’d love to do is be a lowly editor, so I can fix everyone’s because of‘s and due to’s.

What kind of content are you wanting to add specifically? Do you have a type of article in mind? I always enjoyed writing and did so for quite a while until I decided I’d rather go to shitty deserts. I wrote for the school paper when I was a junior/senior in high school, always covered the girls volleyball team. I think we all know why.
I’m not new to sports writing and would really like to do the research about the team I love so much. I most certainly have the time and it would help me get back my love for writing. Plus I’d like to finally contribute to a blog that’s tolerated my non-contributions.
The reason I'm in town, in case you're wondering, is because of a Kansas City Shuffle.
I read up above of what you’re looking for, and it seems like something I’d really like to do. Well not go to practices as I’m still across the ocean until May or so. Other stuff that doesn’t require such an extreme amount of travelling I’d be game for.

Yeah I guess my question would also be how imperative it is that you live in Colorado. When I first joined the community I was in Colorado Springs. I am out of the military now and living in Seattle, WA. (Closer to the enemy now) A lot of my fan posts are pretty zealous but I have written a few good ones I think.
I don’t think it’s a requirement to live near Denver.

Well, I’m not anywhere Denver for 11 months out of the year, so it is possible to be a remote staff member. But I don’t know if that’s what DDC is looking for.
Still, I would imagine that it wouldn’t be that big of a deal.
Just a Colorado girl in Montana who ♥s the Avs and writes for Mile High Hockey.

I'm just glad you don't ban people very much.
I noticed posts get more comments when people disagree with you. Makes sense haha..
It’s funny actually. I rarely get a lot of comments unless I make controversial statements in my post. That either means I’m super duper smart and people are at a loss for words when faced with my utter awesomeness….or they don’t read my shit. I’m leaning towards the latter.
