FINALLY, The Savage Has Returned, With a life altering question
While on my world appreciation tour, of which I was unable to involve MHH due to mostkly my laziness I encountered an existential crisis, which cant be solved by buying a new suit. But it can be solved by buying a new Catching Glove. My newesyt glove is a Larceny L9 which doesnt like gloving pucks all that much and lets alot pop out so I went back to my original, RX9 glove which catches slightly better but still isn't perfect and is pretty worn out after 3 years of solid action. While I "may" be partly to blame for my lack of catching ability I choose to believe a new glove will solve all mine, and subsequently the worlds problems. I'm leaning towards either a Vaughn 9500 Pro, Vaughn 9580 Pro or Reebok P3 Pro. If any goalies out here have a opinion on either of these gloves or any

Don’t know if you’re one of those that has to match everything but you can make an expensive mistake. My adult league minder in FL went from all Bauer to all Vaughn (9500) and hated the glove. He used the Vaughn pads and blocker, but went back to using his Bauer glove. Hopefully you are somewhere one of the pro shops has demo days you can try before you buy. As you know this stuff gets expensive.
I used to be someone who had to match every thing but I bought all new gear about 6 months ago, Larceny L9 gear, so I have no desire to replace all of it since I’m not having problems with the pads and love the blocker. Unfortunately thy only way to get gear where I live in Australia is to blindly buy off the net. I’ve heard mostly good stuff about the 9500 but some negative stuff. Problem I have is I’m not 100% sure what I really want from a glove if that makes sense. I want something that will hold pucks without any popping out and that’s easy to open and close fully without needing superhuman strength.

Is it just pop-outs and break-in that’s the issue? Desired break angle? Wrist protection? Strapping? Back-of-hand coverage? # of T’s?
If we don't get our sauce, we ain't watching the game!
See for tha most part that shit just confuses me, I strap mine in pretty tight at the wrist so I want something that doesnt feel likeits gonna fall off when I glove something, The 3 gloves I’m looking at are all the Pro gloves on goalie monkey and as such seem to have pretty good protection for the back of the hand which is fairly important to me. The main thing really is pop outs and break ins, the Larceny and RX9 dont seem to stay broken in all that well, they’ll start off easy to close and then towards the end of a game they seem to stiffen up. I have heard it has to do with the plastic pocket not having a break in it and being one piece but I dont know how much of a difference that would make.

This poll is cool and all… but I would much rather see a “name your new glove” poll

Well when I get a new glove I’ll run that poll. Is that alright with you ’’Mr Hamilton", if that is your real name

Also to the people voting “other” if you could clarify what other glove i should get that’d be helpful, I’m awesomely great but not a mind reader….yet.
