I sometimes wonder why teams dont send in a winger to take the faceoff right after an iciing and have the guy get “accidentally” thrown out. Would give you some extra time and acenter taking the faceoff

some announcer for another team was talking about that team doing it often. i dont remember what team it was though…
i mean its not that hard to get thrown out of a faceoff. just a thought. also, landy is a decent fo guy for a rookie winger

People seem to have this idea of law that lying and cheating is the standard instead of the exception. Dealing with and dispelling these stereotypes is a reality of the job.
I look forward to practicing, though, because it’s typically communicating with opposing counsel. Counsel will communicate frankly and collaboratively, in general.
I’ve already had people try to get me to do that. It’s like “nope, you’ll have to find yourself someone else”. Hate being put in that position though.

by Sandie Gauthier on Feb 7, 2012 7:45 PM MST up reply actions
I question this.
I have no doubt that the media characterises American legal practice in this way. Similarly, courtroom dramas construct the same view. But I do not have any evidence for or against the validity of the stereotype in practice.
From a logical standpoint, it would seem inefficient for a legal system to be predicated on dishonesty. The truth typically comes out eventually, and this would impact the reputation of a lying lawyer, driving him or her out of the profession. Other lawyers would not want to work with a lawyer who has a dishonest reputation. Similarly, judges would have difficulty finding credible an advocate known to mislead a court.

shotgun, I found something for you on Sami’s goalie coach. From Justin at Goalie Guild:
Aittokallio’s goalie coach is Markus Korhonen, a former Ilves goaltender that retired on April 23, 2010. Korhonen is also a native of Tampere and was born in 1975, while Parkkila was born in 1977. I have tried to search for a link between Korhonen and Parkkila to further reinforce this notion of Varlamov and Aittokallio having some similar coaching influences, but I haven’t found anything yet.
Sami is probably getting more frequent coaching than Varly. So he is probably developing fine in Finland, getting more frequent coaching than he would playing in the AHL.
Giggy is so lazy, can’t practice, play in games, coach Varly AND go to LE to coach the goalies there.

My brother and I used to say that drowning in beer was like heaven, eh. Now he's not here and I got two soakers, this isn't heaven, this sucks.
“Me gusta” the verb Gustar is irregular and does not have a 1st person form (only third person singular and plural), thus the pronoun “me”.
In this case since there are two people (O’Reilly and Mueller) it would actually be me gustan

I disagree. Quincey played well most of the game, had a couple of bad plays. He was
+2, 5 SOG. I don’t know if you’re just watching his bad plays, and skipping the good ones, but he’s
been very good, of late.
...holy freaking f*ck, snakes!
I am very critical of defensemen and he was horribly out of position tonight and got lucky that the Hawks didn’t score. He had good play, granted, but he can be better. HE just played like crap in my opinion overall and needs to shore up those defensive lapses.
Specifically, on rushes he needs better gap control and he needs to communicate with his partner and forwards better.

These things happen when one reads only the boxscore and doesn’t watch the game to select the stars.

I watched the game, and I wouldn’t have selected Jiggy. I think he had a good game, but I think the other 3 had better games.
Go Avs.

Same. Stastny should’ve had #1 if people were capable of finishing though.

Things could still get interesting… Next 6 are:
Canes (east coast)
Blues (we generally have had their number the last few years)
Caucks (ugh)
Oilers (due for a win here)
Jets (east coast, should win)
Kings (we’ve had their number this season)
win say 4 or 5 of those 6 and things start to look better?

Jets have beaten the Avs once this season…..

What is the song that plays after goals now? It’s that rock song that goes “Whoa oh oh ohhh”… God I feel like that was such a generic question. It’s been eating me up because I’ve heard that song like a thousand times.
