Only one game that matters tonight for the Avalanche, but it's quite important. The San Jose Sharks burn one of their games in hand tonight as they take on the Ducks in San Jose (10 pm eastern). A regulation win by Anaheim would keep the Avalanche in 8th place. More importantly, the Avalanche would control their own destiny for the rest of the week (ie, if they win, they can't fall lower than 8th). Edmonton could have created the same situation on Sunday, but, sadly, they are a pathetic hockey team. So, here's hoping that Anaheim can pull it off.
