Jiggy’s favorite team growing up was the Quebec Nordiques, and his childhood idol was Patrick Roy.
He and his wife are expecting their third child soon.
He’s a sore loser, and it looks like he wouldn’t have minded too much dropping the gloves with Fleury the other night.
It seems like his superstitions are pretty mild (unfortunately). He just refers to them as a “routine”.

Varly hasn’t been in a goalie fight since he was 10.
When asked about the difference between US and Russian hockey, he said that the North American game is much faster, but that the KHL just keeps getting better each year.
His idol growing up was Vladislav Tretiak (although we all know he was pretty fond of Roy too).
The “Russian Spy” commercial was shot in 6 hours and was his first experience on TV.
Varly will be starting tomorrow night.

Also, Varly responded to the questions really, really well. Looks like he’s getting used to this whole English thing.

Also, according to Varly, Giggy told the team before the Minnesota game that they had to win, they needed the two points, so they won because he told them to.

Thanks for posting these! So cute, I might have to rewatch a few times. But what was Varly doing wearing such a tight shirt it gaped open in front???

Varly just looked like he felt awkward. Maybe he would have felt a little more calm if he could have actually breathed instead of being in fear of buttons popping off.

Yeah, I’ve seen this video when they filmed the commercial, it’s from the Caps website. Very cute video and Ovi is crazy skilled aiming for the Russian dolls. It was sad, Varly and Ovi had to miss the season ticketholder event at Six Flags to film the commercial (the event was rescheduled because of rain to the day of the filming) and Ted Leonsis was like trust me, you’ll like what they did, so it’s worth them missing the event. They kept what the commercial was about secret until they released it.

lol Aly, I was going to say the same thing about the tight shirt thing too. He could have gone shirtless and I would have not cared one bit. lol!

Yeah, I couldn’t figure out how to phrase that, but I got a pretty good giggle out of it. Jiggy said they needed to win, so they did.

Jiggy needs to tell them they need to win the next 15 games. Please and thank you!
