Cue the Roberto Luongo rumours.

The Vancouver Canucks goalie will include the Toronto Maple Leafs on a list of teams he would accept a trade to, says TSN, citing sources.

Playing for the Colorado Avalanche in the NHL cannot compare to games for the Russian national team, goaltender Semyon Varlamov told RIA Novosti on Monday.

Varlamov is a leading contender for Russia’s starting goaltender spot when the world championships start next week, and he is available after the Avalanche failed to reach the NHL playoffs.

Bruce Ratner, who will welcome the NBA's Nets to Brooklyn next season, is hopeful of the arena's potential NHL prospects as well, perhaps even the New York Islanders, who are looking for a new home. In fact, the building already has ice and locker rooms for both sports.
