Looks like the Boston Bruins will trade Tim Thomas, despite the fact he's decided to take a year off. Rumors have the oddball goalie headed to the NY Islanders or Colorado Avalanche. The move would be a pure paper trade. The penny pinching NHL franchises could take Thomas $5 million contract next season and count it against the salary cap, without actually having to pay it, since Thomas is going to take a sabbatical from hockey.
