this is gonna be short because im hoping for most of the discussion in the thread below.
after the year of professional ice hockey Semyon Varlamov has had in 2012, my mouth watered at all the exciting atricles to read about our super stud young starting netmynder and where he will lead his Colorado Avalanche in the coming seasons.
going undefeated in the tiebreaker in the 11-12 season already has eyes on him, right? surely there will be lots of buzz surrounding the world champion goaltender who lead his mother Russia to glory without a blemish on his record in the tournament, right? the prodigul son, star goalie who returned to lend his pads in the rebuilding of his former Yaroslavl Lokomotiv, only to post KHL-high numbers before returning to America when the latest NHL lockout ended, right?
...but besides a few tumbleweeds passing by, not a decibel was heard. all the headlines seem to surround Ryan O'Reilly (the only Av still locking himself out) or Gabriel Landeskog. even prospects like Michael Sgarbossa and part-time Av Mark Olver are getting more ink in the paper. Varly is playing the best hockey of his life right now, so where is his feature on NHL.com, Denver Post, or dare i say... an exclusive interview with MHH?
why isnt everyone swinging off Varly's nuts? entering this season, he's gotta be the best goaltender in the world right now, right?
right??
