The Lake Erie Monsters host the 1st place Texas Stars at the Q tonight in the first of a 2-game series in Cleveland. The Monsters will try to follow up their big 7-1 vanderguliking of the Milwaukee Admirals last night. The team currently sits in 7th place in the playoff race.

Perhaps the most compelling matchup tonight is the potential starting goalies, Jack Campbell and Calvin Pickard. There had been some pre-draft speculation that the Avalanche might draft Campbell. Instead, he went 11th overall, 6 picks before Joey Hishon and the Avalanche drafted Pickard in the 2nd round. Both are playing well as AHL rookies this year.

Michael Sgarbossa has been returned to Lake Erie by the Avalanche, but isn't expected to join the team until tomorrow
