The Avalanche announced today that Adam Foote's #52 will be retired sometime next year (date to be announced...assume the home opener). He'll become the 5th Avalanche to have his jersey retired, joining Ray Bourque, Patrick Roy, Joe Sakic and Peter Forsberg in the rafters. Foote is the only player to have worn #52 for the Avs and the Nordiques. He will be the first NHL player to have a jersey number in the 50s retired (and, I believe, the first former Blue Jacket).
Congratulations, Adam. That is a hard-earned honor for sure.
