Help #TeamPuckCancer help kids fight cancer!!

Greetings, Avalanche Nation, I am not Varlamov. My name is Emily. Some of you may remember me from my days as @crazygirlemy on Twitter, or you may even have met me when I was a co-director of the Burgundy Brigade. I no longer participate in either of those things (but that's a story for a different day), but I am still very much an Avalanche fan. Today I am here to talk about something that is very near and dear to my heart, and requires the support of my fellow hockey fans to make a great success.

That thing is #TeamPuckCancer.

The original #TeamPuckCancer

#TeamPuckCancer is, officially, a team of crazy hockey fans that joined together to support one of our own and to raise money for the American Cancer Society at the 2013 Relay For Life of Washington Park. The 7 of us -- AJ, Cheryl, Kevin, Mary, Barbara, Rochelle, and myself -- raised more than $1500 for the ACS and had a blast while doing it. (#TeamPuckCancer also participated the following year; though our numbers were smaller, we still raised nearly $700 between 3 people.)

Whatchu know 'bout kicking cancer's ass?

This year, #TeamPuckCancer will be taking part in Relay For Life of Colorado Springs on June 27-28. Despite this immense time commitment, I still wanted to do more for the community that has done so much for me, and so I also registered #TeamPuckCancer for the 14th Annual Colorado Springs Community St. Baldrick's Event happening this Saturday, March 7.

St. Baldrick's Foundation is basically the same as the American Cancer Society, just dedicated specifically to cancers that affect children, teens, and young adults. "Shavees" raise moneys that fund important research for the treatment and long-term care of children fighting cancer (and also get a pretty wicked haircut!) I might seem pretty brave but really, I am a big wimp and didn't want to go through this alone, so I enlisted my brothers to join in the fun.

Me and my St. Baldrick's accomplices

Remember in the beginning how I said I needed your help? Well, this is where you come in. We are selling these totally awesome #TeamPuckCancer T-Shirts (pictured below) to raise moneys for the St. Baldrick's Foundation. The tricky part is we need to sell at least 11 shirts before the deadline (which is our event on Saturday) in order for the shirts to be printed. Each shirt is $17 and the sizes run from S to XXXXL.

the official #TeamPuckCancer T-Shirt, on sale until March 7!

I know that I threw around a lot of links and information through this post, so if you do choose to put moneys towards anything, please please please let it be towards a T-shirt! I worked really hard on the design and want to have as much moneys to turn in as I possibly can, so that all the kids fighting right now can know the triumph of kicking cancer in the ass like AJ did!!

I will be rocking my bald head and high heels at the Avs game on March 14 vs Calgary, if anyone wishes to meet up and chat about this (or anything really!)

Thank you for your time and consideration! I shall leave you with a few more official links:
