Good morning sports fans. Big day for the IIHF as the elimination rounds begin and all 5 teams with Avs players are involved. The Preds look to go up 3-1 on the Dirty Birds this evening.
IIHF Worlds - Quarterfinals
10:15am ET - Team USA vs Finland on NHLN and the NBCSN App
10:15am ET - Russia vs Czech Republic
2:15pm ET - Team Canada vs Germany
2:15pm ET - Sweden vs Switzerland
Andrei Mironov has been a scratch for the past couple games so aside from RUS/CZE every game has multiple Avs. Probably the least sexy game of the bunch but SWE/SWI might end up being the best. The Swedes have been underwhelming and Switzerland has been kicking some ass. Imagine if the had Sven too! The winner there gets the US (assuming they beat the hapless Finns) and if the other games go true to form Canada and Russia will meet in the Semis.
NHL
8pm ET - Anaheim at Nashville on NBCSN, Preds up 2-1
Pro tip: Skip P1 & P2 then hold on tight for P3.
ECHL
The Eagles took a 2-1 lead over Toledo in the WC Finals last night on goals from St-Amant, Boikov and finally Nantel in OT. The series continues on Friday & Saturday in Loveland, as always great seats are still available.
