Big congrats to @tysonbarrie on the call up. Well deserved. #41 #dontletthenumberfoolyou
Said Morrow: "Got a lot of respect for [Landeskog] already. He plays the game hard and honest. The play at the end really had nothing to do with him. Not sure who crashed in, but I just saw a skate blade going at my eye and I lost it. But he plays hard, plays physical, and plays honest. I expect a great career from him."
"Tortorella fined $30,000 for his WC postgame rant on officiating."
"Absolutely, there should be more Canadian teams in these games," said Collins. "Just like teams like Minnesota should be involved and St. Louis should be involved and Colorado should be involved — you can just keep going on and on."
Emphasis is mine. NHL COO thinks a Colorado outdoor game should happen.
One of the interesting things about Andy Sutton's disciplinary hearing? It was entered into evidence that Gabriel Landeskog suffered a broken nose. The rookie hasn't missed any games and blamed himself for keeping his head down, but I don't think Sutton was very happy. I had no problem with the suspension, though, because Sutton's history mattered much more than the injury.
"MIN's Eric Nystrom clears waivers. COL puts Kyle Cumiskey on waivers. MTL puts Joe Callahan on waivers for purposes of signing to a contract"
Just thought I'd share Duchene's Tweets tonight...
Sorry to all the fans that paid their hard earned money tonight to watch that terrible performance of ours. We WILL be better
This Avs team is not the same one from last year so don't get used to seeing games like that. We're not gonna disappoint you guys again
Per Mike Chambers, Cumiskey is NOT injured. He and Mark Olver are the only two healthy players yet to appear in a preseason game.
Erik Johnson on the fan support throughout training camp: "I know myself, personally, and the rest of the guys were blown away."
"It’s good to see the passion they have for hockey and we’re going to do our best to win some hockey games & get back to the playoffs."
That's gonna be a process that's gonna play itself out. Right now, there's a few guys very capable of being a captain. I will say that Hejduk and Stastny will continue to wear the As. There will be other playlers that will wear the A as well...There's no timetable.
