Budaj Unveils New Mask Design

By popular demand (see: one email), here are two shots of Peter Budaj's new goalie mask design, courtesy of the Avalanche web site.

Looks pretty sharp to me:

I like the larger Ned Flanders on the back and the Avalanche logo on the front is pretty impressive. Very swoopy. The shadowy figure on the side of his helmet is from the video game Assassin's Creed (see game art here), which I fully approve of, because I am a nerd.

I just wonder if the new mask has some kind of defect that obstructs Budaj's vision, because he sure as hell didn't have his eyes open during the third period of last's night's game. Zing!!

That's a pretty sweet new lid, and one of the best paint jobs I have seen.

I think the guy on the side in the hood looks like the main character from Assassin's Creed. That is just awesome. In fact, having Ned Flanders and an assassin on the helmet is really really cool.

any idea what kind of bird or whatever is on the bottom of the mask (the bottom right of Budaj's jaw)? It looks like a vulture head or something

Not sure what's on Budaj's left on the bottom photo either, honestly it looks like more Assassin's Creed artwork, but I can't tell for sure

Dude, you're totally right. It is the character from Assassin's Creed. Holy crap.

That's the nerdiest/coolest thing I've seen a goalie sport on his helmet in a while.

The bird looks like a bald eagle to me.

I can't tell what the images on the mask are, but it can't be as cool as Assassin's creed. I couldn't find any better images in a quick search of the Stars website, but I could have missed it because I had to leave the site quickly cause my eyes started to burn

Killer Mask

That's a killer new mask he's got, suppose he had to do something during his downtime. I did prefer the old frost covered 31 as opposed to his new one but i guess it fits the theme better, i do find the bird being a bald eagle(possibly, looks like it) odd seeing as he's from Slovakia, any birds involved in Assassin's Creed?
