Good recap

seems to sum up what the game sounded like from everything i've read.

We just need Q to stop coaching and we might have  a chance

"We’ll talk about everything, but Jose’s been our guy," Quenneville said. "Coming off what he went through is not easy. I thought ‘Boods’ did a real nice job in relief again, but Jose’s the one who brought us here."

He's actually thinking of starting Theo in game 3. WHY? He was great in the first round but this round he's been horrible, whether he's still sick or not doesn't excuse him. Play Budaj and see what happens, he's proven he can stop the puck when he's had to relieve Theodore and it might give the team a much needed spark. Theo had his chance and blew it, 2-0 down in a series and you can't give him another chance to redeem himself. If Budaj does poorly in the game then we can at least say we tried everything to win and you can play Theo in game 4 since it'll pretty much be over by then. How many teams have seen their #1 goalie bomb in the playoffs and have the backup come in and lead them to the finals. We have to take that chance now since the only place we can go is up.

Re: Good recap

I agree.  Playing Theodore in game 2 was the right call, but playing him now is a recipe for further disaster.

Budaj has earned his spot.  He's allowed 1 goal on 40 shots.  That's a goalie who deserves to play.

Re: Good recap

Excellent recap Joe.

I totally agree that Budaj deserves a chance. Wtf is Q's problem with him? Someone should call the Fan Monday morning when Q's on and ask him.

Avs vrs Detroit

With Theo in net Avs 1 - 8 Detroit
With Boods in net Avs 3 - 1 Detroit

Sure Boods has come in when the games have been solidly in the hands of the Wings, but he has been solid and only given up that one goal. If Q wasn't such and idiot he'd give Boods a game and see what happens, worse case scenario we are down 0-3 instead of 0-2.

Not to mention the season series that I'll probably be stoned for bringing up. Theo and Boods split those four games, each stating two.

Theo: in net Avs 0 - 5 Detroit
Jan 8th 0-1
Feb 18th 0-4

Boods: in net Avs 2 - 5 Detroit (2 EN goals)
Dec 27th 2-4
Feb 1st 0-2 (The controversial Hejduk no-goal)

If the Avs are going to have a chance in this series, we need a goalie change.  Nothing against Theo, but Detroit has his number and the team isn't playing in front of him.  Boods has given us a chance to win when he has faced Detroit. IMHO!

guys......

I didn't watch the game (was at a friend's b-day party). I just want to say something:

  1. Peter Forsberg should be back for game 3, and he brings emotion, and leadership to the ice. You all know our record this season with him in the lineup, and without him in the lineup.
  1. The Wings were also up 2-0 in 1996....just sayin...

That is all.

Go Avs.

dammit

1999, not 1996. The point is, it's not impossible.

If it was only that easy...

Except that they don't take calls and Sandy is likely to "Clough you up," for daring to question Jack Adams...errrrr Joel Quenneville.

So

does this mean that I HAVE to watch now?  I spent all day Saturday moving, so we only caught the 'highlights' every now and then when we entered the house.  Most of those consisted of noting the score and watching a Detroit goal be celebrated.

Great Recap

I got a chuckle.  You couldn't have have chosen a better word and I'm sure it was easy to write.

Re: If only it were that easy

You're probably right...

Sandy is likely to "Clough you up,"

I am definately not interested in becoming Slough's whipping post!
