It didn't start out very promising, but in the end, the Avalanche pulled out a shootout win over the Canucks, 5-4. The Avs have now won 8 in a row against Vancouver; the Canucks last beat the Avalanche on November 9th, 2007.
The Avalanche spun their wheels really hard (38 shots), but could only get one past Phoenix backup Michael Tellqvist. That would be the 7th time in the last 10 games that they've been held to a goal or less in regulation.
Well, it wasn't the most stunning victory of all time, but a win is a win. The Avalanche probably didn't play well enough to beat a Calgary or an Anaheim, but they were good enough to beat Manny Legace and the Blues.
The Avalanche have had a lot of these flat games lately. I still believe they are better than the way they are playing, but they need to find their way soon
