Thrashers eliminated; Hartley on hot seat?

The Atlanta Thrashers first postseason experience was a short one. The New York Rangers won 4-2 last night to complete a sweep of the Thrashers. Atlanta didn't do much right in the series - Kari Lehtonen looked terrible between the pipes, and Atlanta's offense was non-existent. 100-pt scorer Marian Hossa had 1 point, and was a -6. Ilya Kovalchuk had 2 points, although he did earn points by making Sean Avery bleed. The Thrasher's powerplay was an achille's heel all year, and, true to form, the team managed just one PP goal in the 4-game series.

Despite leading the team to the playoffs, head coach Bob Hartley has endured some criticism this year, and raised eyebrows when he went back to Lehtonen in game 3 after a superb effort from backup Johan Hedberg in game 2. The Thrashers lost that game 7 to 0.

Five of the remaining seven series are at 3-1.
