Splits:

1st Half: 6 GP, 0 G, 1 A, 1 Pt, +1, 6 shots

2nd Half: DNP (AHL)

Linemates: Center: Richardson (6 GP). Left Wing: Laaksonen (4), Rycroft (2).

Career: Managed just 6 NHL GP after playing 45 in 2006 and 44 in 2004.

Report: Didn't play much...Spent the first 14 games on IR, then was scratched in 7 out of the next 13 games before a demotion to Albany (AHL)...Even when in the lineup, he was used sparingly and on the 4th line only...His high in minutes was just 8:43...6:12 into his first game of the season took a roughing penalty coming to the aid of one of his teammates, which sums him up perfectly.

Fast Fact: Was one of just 2 players without even a token appearance on the PP or PK (George Parros is the other).

Midseason Grade: Inc

Final Grade: Inc

2007-2007 Salary: $450,000

2007-2008 Status: RFA (requires qualifying offer of $544,500*)

Outlook: McCormick got lost in the shuffle a bit this year – there just wasn't a spot for him on the roster. The Avalanche could certainly use his toughness on the 4th line, but I expect his status on the team next year will depend on what happens with other players this summer. Right now, there are already 8 Avalanche forwards under contract (including RFA Marek Svatos and Ian Laperriere who has a team option). With cap room to spare to acquire players, McCormick could see himself caught in a numbers game again.
