The Colorado Avalanche are on a 3-game winning streak. The Edmonton Oilers suffered their first loss of the season last night against the Blackhawks. Nikolai Khabibulin, the greatest goaltender in the entire world, shut them out, giving ex-Avs coach Joel Quenneville his second win in three games at the helm of The Indian.
No doubt tonight's game will be tough. The Oilers are a much improved team from last season, and have already beaten the Avs once already. But the Avalanche offense is doing well, and the defense/goaltending seems to be improving a bit. If the Avs can stay competent in their own end, good things will happen.
Not that anyone cares, but my personal life is kind of on crack right now, so I won't be around for the game thread. Not that it matters, considering the great participation we've been getting so far this season. Keep it up! And pick a good goal girl. Adriana Lima was top notch last game, so let's try to maintain an equally high standard tonight.
