Game 71: Avalanche At Thrashers, Preview And Open Thread

The Atlanta Thrashers suck.  They're not a good hockey team.  The Avalanche should have no trouble beating them tonight and gaining two points in the standings.  Enough said.

In injury news---since all my game previews are actually injury reports this season---Adam Foote is expected to return to the lineup, but fellow defensemen Ruslan Salei and Jordan Leopold will miss at least one game due to their respective injuries.  Salei does not have a broken orbital bone and is predicted to return for Thursday's game, while Leoprone is showing symptoms of a minor concussion and may have to sit longer.  I really feel sorry for him these days.  The poor guy may never play a full season.

Peter Forsberg is still out with a sore groin, but he skated in practice and is showing signs of improvement.  Hopefully he just needs a little more rest and will be good to go on Thursday as well.

The game starts at 5:00 PM Mountain time, 7:00 PM Eastern.  I'm not sure if I'll be around for the whole thing, but I'll try to check in as often as possible.  Unless of course the Avs are losing 3-0 after the first period, at which point I'll just tie a plastic bag over my head and be done with it.

ESPN preview.
