Game 69: Stars At Avalanche, Preview And Open Thread

The Colorado Avalanche is still in the playoff picture with just 14 games left to play, and has won five games straight.  But, this new, improved version of the Avs sure has its work cut out for it.  Today they face the steamrolling Dallas Stars, the best team in the Pacific Division and arguably the Western Conference.  Detroit has a better record, but Dallas is deeper and hasn't endured a long slump this season.  They've lost the past two games, but it's barely a blip on their radar.

The Avs need just ten more wins to duplicate their 15-2-2 run of last season, having started this year's final 19 games with a 5-0-0 record.  Can they keep it up?  And can Peter Forsberg finally get on the scoreboard?

The game starts at 1:00 PM Mountain time, 3:00 PM Eastern.  Jose Theodore will be in net, and everyone should be praying for the poor kittens.
