It's the final meeting of the year between the Avalanche and Oilers. If past history is any indication, the final score will be 3-2 (4 of the 5 games this year have been 3-2 games).
The Avalanche are once again resembling an outpatient facility. Daniel Tjarnqvist, Adam Foote and Ruslan Salei are all out again, meaning Michael Vernace and Derek Peltier will make their 2nd career start today. Meanwhile, 2005 2nd-round pick Paul Stastny is out. He'll be replaced in the lineup by 2007 2nd-round pick TJ Galiardi. Galiardi is the first player from our 2007 draft to make his NHL debut.
Dwayne Roloson will be making his 495th consecutive start (or 26th) for Edmonton. Peter Budaj will once again be between the pipes for the good guys.
