The Avalanche have signed a couple of former 2nd round picks today - defenseman Cameron Gaunce and goalie Trevor Cann. I'm not hip to all the league eligibility rules (in other words, I'm not Jori), but I believe Cann, as a 20-year old, is eligible to play in the AHL next season but Gaunce (19) is not. As Jori pointed out recently, the goaltending situation in Lake Erie is going to be rather interesting.
Also, it's worth pointing out that Craig Billington is the one who made both announcements...
