Welcome to the Off-Season

New, comments

Yes, I know that the Avalanche off-season actually started a little over a week ago. But we've been taking it easy here at the office, focusing on non-blogging responsibilities. I got myself a new perm, Joe adopted another baby, Mike ate a sandwich...etc, etc.

We're back now, and ready to stay with you for the remainder of the summer. We don't really have any specific game plan for the next few months, other than that we're going to cover all the major happenings (draft, free agency, training camp) and a healthy chunk of the minor happenings. The goal is to have some content up every weekday. And yes, we're counting this "article" as "content", so your mileage may vary as to how much value said daily content provides.

I won't be doing final grades this year, having sold the rights to those to a young blogging upstart named Adrian Dater. Actually, Brett and Dustin are planning to do them. Or at least they were, the last time I talked to them. We've seen a bunch of good "year-in-review" type posts both here at the M Double H Ranch and from off the reservation. There may be more to come, but I know that I'm already starting to look forward towards next year. It's not too soon to start planning the arrival of Ilya Kovalchuk, is it?

It is.

What I would like to do, though, is open up the floor for comments about what you think is working at MHH and what may not be working so well. Yep, I'm planning to open that can of worms on day one! There's a few things I'm definitely planning to do - clean up some of the clutter on the front page, update the links & glossaries. But maybe you have some thoughts about improving the site as well. This is a great time to share them (this extends to the MHH Twitter feed and Facebook page, by the way). I can't guarantee that we'll be able to make an action on every suggestion, but I do promise to read every comment (except the ones from Bob, of course).

And just to save you some typing: we're not renaming this site after Jimmy Howard, no matter how great he is.
