Take two.
The Avalanche didn't quite get off to the start they were looking for on Saturday night, getting outshot 39-29 by the Red Wings and getting shut out by Ty Conklin. The Avs will need to get their offense on track today in Beantown, as it is really tough to win in the NHL without scoring any goals.
Hopefully, Colorado can take advantage of the Bruins being weighted down by those ginormous new rings they are sporting. Or, maybe they are tired from having to carry around that giant soup bowl all summer long (including a visit to Foxboro stadium yesterday).
The B's are 1-1 on the season, after losing 2-1 to the Flyers on Thursday night and winning 4-1 against Tampa Bay on Saturday. After two games, Brad Marchand and Tyler Seguin are tied for the team lead with 3 points each. Thankfully, Colby Cohen is currently in the minors, so the "big day for former Avs" is limited to Johnny Boychuk (no, smarty pants, Tim Thomas doesn't count).
Remember, this one is an early game because Christopher Columbus loved afternoon hockey games.
