Last off-season, there was a ton of bitching about the lack of moves made by the front office. Few new faces and even fewer dollars spent made for watered down Kool Aid. Although the team is still rolling around on the cap floor, there are quite a few newcomers to the Avalanche ranks this season. Fans placed high expectations on some of them, seeing them as essential to success of the team. Other players were barely even considered, unless it was as official Nacho Tasters or additions to the Monsters' roster. The funny thing is that, just over a week into the season, we've had those expectations turned on their heads. There have been surprising performances by players considered a question mark for a roster spot, and more talent out of guys who many of us considered one-dimensional.

When you think about all the new guys, whose performance has been the most unexpected? Which guy has made you sit back and say, "Really? Who woulda thought?"
