Hey, folks. Cheryl here. As you know, we still need you to buy tickets for Sunday's tilt against the Kings to support the Mile High Hockey v. Avalanche Guild game at the Pepsi Center beforehand. We also need a few more players for the MHH crew, so if you play - or know someone who does - contact Derek. Click on the little envelope next to his name at the bottom of the page. Thanks!
People want to compare Gabriel Landeskog to Peter Forsberg, but what does Gabriel think of that?
But the product of Stockholm, who is the youngest Swedish player to score an NHL goal, isn’t sure the comparisons are true.
"It’s fun to hear that kind of stuff, but at the same time, there’s never going to be another Peter Forsberg. I’m trying to become my own player, play my game and do those things that make me successful," he said.
An update on Marc Crawford.
Hockey Canada on Thursday announced that experienced NHL coach Marc Crawford will be behind the bench to lead the country's entry at the Spengler Cup in December.
Crawford, 50, will be assisted at the tournament in Switzerland by Doug Shedden and Trent Yawney, both former NHL players who've gone on to coaching careers.
If you are in Moncton, you can see Patrice Brisebois on December 14th.
A trio of former Montreal Canadiens will be in Moncton on Dec. 14 to play a fund-raising hockey game in support of Food Depot Alimentaire.
Stephane Richer, Patrice Brisebois and Gaston Gingras will play for the Maritime All-Stars in a charity game against the New Brunswick Police Association. Game time is 7 p.m. at the Moncton Coliseum.
