Stars at Avalanche, Game 24 Preview

Got Momentum? The Avalanche need to create some with a win tonight. Colorado is coming off a big win on Saturday, but, as has been documented, this is a key stretch for the team. Right now, the Avs sit in 12th place in the Western Conference exactly 6 points away from last-place Columbus and 8th place Dallas. Which path are you going to follow boys?

It has been 73 games and almost a full calendar year since the Avalanche last won 2 straight games in regulation. The Stars are without starting goalie Kari Lehtonen, captain Brendan Morrow and defenseman Alex Goglioski (a 3rd of his 6 points this year have come against the Avs). Dallas has lost 7 of their last 9, giving up 3 or more goals in each of those 7 losses. Automatic? No. Winnable? Absolutely.

It may not quite be must win, but it's darn close. The Avs need to find a way to put a few wins together before it's too late.
