It looks like Quebec is getting the NHL-ready arena. Let the relocation rumors begin.

Prime Minister Stephen Harper's government has a new plan to funnel millions of federal tax dollars into a controversial plan to build a new NHL arena in Quebec City, CBC News has learned.

Sources tell CBC News that the Conservative government is considering allowing part of the federal gas tax revenues to be used for construction of "large entertainment centres" such as the proposed new Quebec City arena.

Buried in the last line of the Denver Post article talking about Craig Anderson's leave, T.J. Galiardi 's injury, Kyle Cumiskey's re-injured head, the news of Holøs and John Grahame's call ups. This tidbit.

Peter Forsberg, who is expected to rejoin the team at Friday's morning skate, could make his season debut against Columbus.

That's the happy in all of this? I don't know. Whatever is going on with Andy, I wish him the best.

A preview of the game

The Colorado Avalanche's offense has been ineffective lately. That hasn't been the case when they've faced the Columbus Blue Jackets.

Colorado can halt its worst losing streak in nearly two years by winning its seventh in a row over the Blue Jackets on Friday night at Nationwide Arena.

What was the worst streak, you ask? If you must know... between March 15th and April 1 st, 2009 the Avs went 0-7-1.  Yeah, those apples hurt.

Trading season has started and one of the Burgundy and Blues is being mentioned as a potential player. Who do you think it is? If I were to say Highlander, what would you think?

Other hired guns that could be available at the right price include Columbus Blue Jackets Derek Dorsett or Jared Boll, Colorado Avalanche roughneck Cody McLeod
