The Hockey News has faith in Sherman
Remember when the Colorado Avalanche were good? It wasn’t that long ago. Seriously. Remember what you did for New Year’s? Then you can remember the Avs being good.
And, under the guiding hand of GM Greg Sherman, you won't have to wait for them to be good again.
The Toronto Sun is giving Marek Svatos some minor props
A former 32-goal scorer (in just 61 games) with the Colorado Avalanche, Svatos produced zip in his first dozen outings as a Senator. Now he has three goals in his past four games, including a pair in Sunday’s 5-4 shootout loss to the Thrashers.
The Edmonton Journal is talking about the Avs
One reason the Colorado Avalanche might not take defenceman Adam Larsson with the first pick in the draft, if they get it: they just signed two high-end Western League prospect blue-liners — Stefan Elliott (Saskatoon) and Tyson Barrie, Len’s kid (Kelowna). They also have a young centre coming in Joey Hishon. I say they take winger Gabriel Landeskog to replace Chris Stewart.
