According to some website that covers a lot of stuff related to North Dakota, Avalanche prospect Brad Malone has signed a two year contract and will report to Lake Erie for the duration of their playoff run. Malone, a recent MHH fan favorite, was drafted in the fourth round (105th overall) of the 2007 NHL Entry Draft. He recently completed his career at the University of North Dakota, where he capped a solid career with a breakout season of 40 points in 43 games.
And just in case you missed it above, YES he will be available to play for Lake Erie immediately. A more in-depth look at Malone was done by our very own Angelique back in February and can be found here.
Fun fact: Brad's cousin, Ryan, currently plays for the Tampa Bay Lightning.
Here's hoping Malone can bring some toughness and grit to the Lake Erie squad in their quest for the Calder Cup. Welcome to the family, Brad!
