The New Jersey Devils won the stupid draft lottery thing tonight, moving them from 8th to 4th in the draft standings. As a result, the Oilers, Avalanche and Panthers retain the top three spots in the draft. There isn't exactly a consensus #1 this year, but it appears that the consensus for the top 3 picks are Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, Gabriel Landeskog and Adam Larsson. If I was a betting man, I'd put my money on either Landeskog or Larsson going to the Avalanche in the draft.
The Blues' #11 pick did not change, so the Avalanche will now own the rights to that pick while St Louis will get Colorado's 2nd round (32nd overall) pick in this summer's draft.
