Well, he almost made it to the end of the season. Alas, David Jones finally fell victim to the Avalanche Concussion Syndrome. He has a leg injury of some kind. Matt Hunwick is also on the shelf with a head injury of some kind. Sigh. Has there been ONE game since December where a player hasn't gotten hurt?

In response, the Avs have recalled two defensemen from Lake Erie: Shawn Belle, who we saw for the first time not too long ago, and Ray Macias. Macias is part of the new wave of NHLers coming from So Cal (Long Beach). He played 6 games with the Avs on a call up in the 2008-2009 season.

Given that both Jones and Hunwick are doubtful for tomorrow, expect both Belle and Macias to play with Koci returning to the fourth line.
