Avalanche Select Gabriel Landeskog

With the #2 pick in the 2011 draft, the Colorado Avalanche have drafted Gabriel Landeskog from the Kitchener Rangers. Landeskog is a Swedish-born forward and is expected to be ready to play in the NHL. We think the Avalanche might have some room for him in their lineup.

He's the highest selection by the team since the move to Denver and the highest selection by the franchise since the Nordiques drafted that douchebag Eric Lindros first overall in 1991. The franchise has had a total of three 1st overall selections - Lindros (91), Owen Nolan (90) and Mats Sundin (89). Landeskog is their first 2nd overall pick.

As expected, the Oilers drafted Ryan Nugent-Hopkins with first overall pick.
