For their 6th round pick (153rd overall), the Avalanche selected Canadian Gabriel Beaupre. Beaupre is an alternate captain for Val-d'Or Foreurs of the QMJHL. The 6'2" 195-lb defenseman has recorded 28 pts (5g/23a) and 215 PIMs in his three seasons in the Q. He's a big hitter and shot blocker. He's not afraid to drop the gloves, either.
