According to the Denver Post, the Avalanche have signed David Jones to a one-year, $2.5 million contract. Per the Avs' website, “We are pleased to have David under contract,” said Avalanche General Manager/Executive Vice President Greg Sherman. “He was one of our top offensive players a year ago and is part of the young nucleus of this team.”
Jones was easily considered one of the better players on a shaky team during a dismal season last year. He set career highs, however, in goals, games, assists and points. He tied for the most goals in the season (27) and led the team in GWGs at 4. Jones also set a franchise record in overtime goals (3).
